The People’s Budget May 31st 2019

“Wellbeing” who would not be for it? But how can the lives of the many be made better if you don’t tax the wealthy? Is there really no more money for teachers when we are running a $5 Billion surplus and have one of the lowest rates of government debt in the OECD?

On Friday May 31st, a couple of days after the government released its “Well Being” Budget I put these questions and many more to our panel of experts and community leaders at the Otahuhu Community Centre. Among those taking part were Prof.Jane Kelsey • Dr Ganesh Nana • Prof. Lisa Marriot •Rod Oram•Sue Bradford•Russel Norman•Julia Whaipooti•EfesoCollins•Kerri Nuku •Annie Newman• Ricardo Menendez•Chris Trotter Please share with your friends and family – NZPTV needs your viewing support if we are to have more Town Hall television where you get to talk back to the policy makers
